We are a family run traditional bakery in the centre of historic Lichfield, Staffordshire. Today the business is led by brother and sister team, Duncan Hindley and Jackie Beaumont. We are the fourth generation of the family to work within the business since it was established by our great grandfather in 1893.

Want to impress your friends and family with your bread making prowess? Maybe you just want to expand your horizons. On this course you will become an Artisan for the day and maybe the rest of your life.

Artisan Bread Making. Follows the Introductory course.

For more advanced bakers, it is designed for those who have completed our introduction to bread making course and for those who already have a basic understanding of bread making & wish to take it one step further.

You will:

  • Learn about sourdough starters
  • How to use starters
  • Long & bulk fermentation techniques
  • Working with different flours
  • Bake a number of different artisan breads

You will take home a jar of our starter, a bag of flour plus all the information to take your baking skills to the next level.

At the end we’ll give you a small jar of our starter, flour & instruction sheet (so you can play!)
